My very own gang

I went to elementary school in a very small town. That’s me second from the left and that’s my best friend with her arm up, all sassy. The school was built way back when and had wooden floors and a small quaint library that I worked at between classes for a quarter a day. The school was grades 1-8 and both my sisters went there before me. We played our butts off at that school. Recess was a magical time of chasing games, swinging nonstop and brutal games of tackle. If you look closely at this photo you’ll see a head poking out from under the pile of kids-that’s me.We wore camoflauge and tight blue jeans, listened to Blondie and collected Garfield stickers. Just about every kid had a bowl haircut. You know the one where your parents put a bowl down over your head and cut around it? We got together and rode four wheelers for fun or competed for the most badges in Girl Scouts. It was awesome.
