We made butter in a jar last weekend. It’s easy and fun, fattening and delicious. You just fill up a jar about halfway with heavy cream, screw the lid down tight and shake, shake, shake senora! Shake it for about five minutes then try to pass it off to the toddler to shake. When she looks at you askance, hand it to your beloved to shake, saying it only has a few minutes left. Works like a charm. In about twenty minutes, you’ll have a big lump of melty, delicious butter in your jar surrounded by milk. Pretty cool.
This is cool. I bet it’s so rich. My grandparents used to make butter. They had some great old butter churns.
