Saturday, we decided to be spontaneous and traveled 55 miles to go play in the mountains. We left our own wild woods to wander through some even wilder woods up Cheaha Mountain in Alabama. I love state parks, county parks, you name it. I get all excited at the sight of one of those official looking park signs. So much fun to wander around and explore, go on a little adventure!
Wildwood Papa carried the little miss all the way up the Observation Tower because she was scared to try it herself. Afterwards, when she refused to leave, WP tantalized her with the possibility of seeing baby deer on the trails somewhere. I thought, “Oh good job, Tricksy Papa!”
We walked a few easy trails, played at the playground,
Then as we were leaving, what did we see on the hill up from the road? A whole deer family, complete with three baby deer!
