It took a while but I found a song that I can play (and sing…I have a very particular and limited voice). The rhythm of it and the chord changes make sense to me. It is a real accomplishment to be able to understand the structure of a song enough to play it through consistently…at least, consistently for me. It helps that it is one of my favorite songs too. I’ve decided to keep a main strum for when I’m not singing and just whatever I need to do quietly while I am singing…singing along to certain strum patterns has proven to be a real challenge.
Hands Remember by Seabear
C Em Am G (The chords repeat on each line)
Do you remember what things looked like when you were young?
The voice of an old friend or the notes to your first song
It’s been awhile now since you asked me to be
Your cat, your dog, your owl, your bumblebee
Lately I’ve been feeling like the day is gonna come
You’ll walk up to me and erase my memory
Can’t wait to feel brand new
I can’t wait to meet you again…friend
I think I must have known you in another life
I think our rocking chairs used to rock together all night
With pictures of owls all over the walls
Tiny ships in bottles they won’t sail too far
